WHO IS PAPER BOY ?

Hey, I’m Paper Boy, that clumsy guy who used to sell newspapers but now is the do-it-all at FRESTA, a kiosk that seems to have come straight out of a Wes Anderson film. This old stand has taken on a life of its own and is now a unique spot in Lisbon: FRESTA VISUAL CULTURE UNFOLD, where we unfold visual poetry.
I drew inspiration from Jacques Tati’s films, and I can assure you there’s a clumsy touch to my day-to-day at FRESTA. The heavy news and the urgency of the newspaper are gone. They’ve made way for culture and visual poetry, sometimes timeless, something that softens the rigidity of the days.
FRESTA is more than just a kiosk. It’s a place to exhibit and sell various prints from local artists and projects, and not just from around here. We’re not a gallery. We’re an art stand to exhibit and sell, a place where artists can have their works unfolded, known, and reach the world. Between zines, posters, engravings, artist books, and some originals, FRESTA is a gap through which the fraction of visual production enters.
So, if you’re up for something different, take a look at FRESTA. I’ll be here, as clumsy as ever, ready to share with you the beauty of visual poetry. Everything I know, and always eager to learn. Let’s explore together this enchanting world of visual culture in Lisbon.
